a. Indian exports have got a significant share in the European market and it is further getting strengthened owing to the decreasing textile manufacturing activities in the western countries and the majority of textile needs of these countries being catered by the Asian countries, particularly India. In this scenario it becomes imperative for any Indian exporting organization to establish a Distribution Centre / Ware House at a pivotal region in the European Union, which can facilitate the smooth and timely delivery of goods to the various target destination. Such a facility leads to multifaceted advantages.

With the expansion of its operational boundaries through its consortiums (or) marketing activities in other countries like France which already has the Caliber Corporation’s presence, the company has established its facilities at Liege in Wallonia Region in Belgium which has already invited the interest from its French counterpart in extending their business activities to Liege.

b. Liege is the centre of focus of the Government of Belgium owing to its geographical position. It is an ideal hinter-land location for large distribution and handling centres, which has the potential to support movement of enormous volumes of cargo. Owing to this and also due to other infrastructural facilities, the Government of Belgium is promoting Liege region as the logistic hub in Europe, which will be an ideal location for establishing the proposed distribution centre.

Because of the inherent advantages enjoyed by the Wallonia region in the transport and logistics sector, the Wallonia government has identified transport and logistics as a new area of competitiveness. This new area of competitiveness was officially announced in February 2006. The ambitious objectives of the Transport and Logistics (T&L) area of competitiveness form part of the wider objective set by Wallonia to become a leading region in the value-added high quality logistics industry, that is recognized and valued by Belgian companies and international companies for its services, multimodal infrastructures, expertise, business environment and legal and fiscal context.

How are we going to operate?

Under the flag ship company of Cauvery Clothing Company Limited, established in India, Caliber Corporation SPRL will promote its activities in textile products, like home furnishing, terry towel products, and leather goods etc.,

The Marketing Office/Ware House and related facilities will be set up by the Caliber Corporation in Liege, Belgium. A Director is appointed from India to represent the company, will be present, officiating and co-ordinating the marketing activities through out Europe.

The products which are obtained by the marketing office or coordinated by the marketing office will be directly shipped to the importers place by utilizing the warehouse facilities.

The ware house takes care of the clearing the goods from the Airport and Sea port and stores the same will it gets claimed by the buyers. The Systems Integrator will facilitate the distribution of products as per the individual customers interest to various regions of Europe based on the orders received.

The Caliber Corporation sprl will make agreements with the importing companies on a long term basis. The orders which are placed by them will be manufactured and exported to Belgium and will be stored at the Distribution Centre.

The CC sprl will have a direct coordination with the manufacturing units/exports in India who are the members of PDEXCIL and CHWP for carrying out the orders as per the requisition of the importers. It facilitates in getting the timely delivery of the goods at the ware house due to its extensive networking in India with the PDEXCIL and CHWP and also with other government agencies. A wide range of products based on the latest trends in the European Market will be listed on the CCCL’s operational plan and samples of such developed products will be made readily available at the Exhibition Centre of the Consortium. This facilitates a very smooth, trouble free and economic flow of trade between the parties.
